Red

As valentines approaches shops are full of gifts to give your sweetheart. Hearts, everywhere - pink and red seem to be the accepted colour of love!  I have spent many valentines days with no sweetheart of my own but of course, who says you can't buy myself a bunch of roses?

Whilst I love the idea of valentines day, and I love the idea of romance I am certainly not a girl who expects a candle lit meal and an expensive bottle of perfume. My boyfriend of 3 1/2 years knows I adore him and I never have to question his love for me. Sure we have our ups and downs, the downs feel awful like I could at any minute lose the love of my life...But the up's, Well i'm a lucky girl. I get cups of tea and more often than not breakfast in bed. When i'm sick he makes me my favourite meal of Heinz tomato soup with bread and butter which he cuts into little fingers and arranges in shapes around the bowl.

My boyfriends father and step mother was here this past weekend and always bring lots of lovely treats! Whilst they were here we went to the new Lindt shop in my city (can you imagine my excitement when I found out that was opening!) and my father in law bought both myself and my boyfriend a heart shaped box each of Lindor  chocolates.  I couldn't help but take a photo of the loveliness the box was containing! They are perhaps my most favourite chocolates ever. Heaven!

On the same shopping trip whilst I was waiting for my boyfriend and his family to come out of a shop I didn't want to go into I wandered into the Osprey shop. It's a shop I have often wandered in, lusted after the handbags but not being able to afford to spend several hundred pounds on a handbag I ultimately walk back out slightly disappointed that i'll never be one of those girls who can do that. I saw they had a sale on, but even at 50% off I still couldn't afford this kind of indulgence.

My eyes scanned the store and I saw a red handbag, perfectly sized, and fit perfectly over my arm (i'm really quite picky about handbags!) Disappointed at having found the perfect handbag in such an expensive shop, I took a deep breath before reluctantly taking it off my shoulder to look at the price tag and resolve myself to putting it back and perhaps finding something cheaper elsewhere. It was originally £225 (about $340) so imagine my shock when I saw it had been reduced to £55! I'm not going to lie, that's still more than i've ever spent on a handbag, but i've been a bit Ebay crazy recently and have sold lots of stuff I don't need any more so technically the bag was free!

Yes it came home with me...

  1. Yay for Lindt chocolates. :) Yummm. :)
And double yay for the bargain on the handbag. Very cool. I need a new one as my old one is literally holding on by a thread.
